Why Where Matters consulting uses a workflow centered approach to Location-based Services (LBS) that delivers ROI. Your investment in LBS should be focused on outcomes, sustaining those outcomes and continous improvement. This approach is a change in mindset from the traditional way that these solution have been implemented. The vendors and manufacturers of these systems are driven by selling, implementing and expanding. The integrators are great at implementing and supporting. Neither are well suited to build a LBS program that can "earn the right" to be declared a strategic advantage for hospital operations.

From Radar Systems to Enterprise Traffic Control: A Journey in Innovation
With over three decades of experience in designing and building complex systems, I've stayed at the forefront of emerging technologies throughout my career. My journey has taken me from large organizations like the FAA and Westinghouse to my own startup, spanning industries such as aviation, automotive, banking, retail, and healthcare.
Career Highlights:
- Westinghouse & FAA: Started in Air Traffic Control radar, then pioneered a distributed system of weather cams viewable on the Internet in 1998 (weathercams.faa.gov).
- Internet Boom: Joined MarchFIRST, introducing major brands to the Internet during its explosive growth.
- Healthcare Technologist: At Henry Ford Health ran the Location-based Services program. Customer, improver and program leader for many LBS systems and a major health system.
- Healthcare Innovation: Founder Navv Systems, developed NavvTrack - an indoor Care Traffic Control system inspired by Air Traffic Control principles.
- Enterprise Traffic Control: Founded "Why Where Matters" to educate on this concept, with a focus on healthcare applications.
My diverse roles in engineering, product management, project management, consulting, and leadership have given me a unique perspective on technology's potential to transform industries.
Personal Pursuits:
In my free time I'm pushing my limits as a multisport athlete. I've completed 7 Ironman triathlons and 5 Boston Marathons, embracing the challenge of endurance events that test both body and mind. We have 3 Great Danes that keep us smiling as well.
